ICT in the real world!!! Technology is invading every space, it is our job to encompass and promote new ideas. The learning environment can benefit with the use of a frameworks which encompass basic scaffolding using these resources. The world has been made smaller because of the use of online learning, discussion boards, chat lines and the myriad of other discussion tools. To have real time discussion within the classroom with another class across the other side of the world, both focusing on a similar issue such as environmental issues or whaling, can only enhance the learners understanding of issues and perspectives from different directions. The use of ICT is unstoppable.

ICT's are the real world.
ReplyDeleteThey are all around us in every facit of life and living.
I for one and very excited to elarn about these new technologies.
I think that we must not only encompass the new ideas about ICT's but also act upon these ideas. There would be no use if we had all this knowledge and no one knew about it though our lack of actions.
ReplyDeleteWe need to be able to create things from our knowledge, teach others about our knowledge and provide opportunities to learn further ourselves to extend our capabilities.
In summary, yes, I do agree with you we must embrase everything we learn in the next few weeks in ICT's it will be our job to act upon this and create an assessment task that showcases our knowledge of these ICT's.
To Dare Is To Do
ICT and all the new 'gadgets' coming on the market are setting us up to be life long learners. The changes are fast and furious but with tenacity we can stay abreast with new technology and incorporate it into our pedagogy. Art has some interesting uses for student's visual art diary, instead of writting in the diary progress made for the day, students can add to a blog and other students and teacher can access the students thoughts of the process
ReplyDeleteAs technology is rapidly increasing so too is modern day art. I fully agree suzie, art is a perfect example of how we can embedd technology into the curriculum. If we look around us art today isn't merely drawings on a billboard. Every advertisement on television is art through technology and without modern technology we would be looking at a lot of drawings on billboards! Today however,it is incredible to see the messages via the combination of art AND technology that can be recieved by the audience.
ReplyDeleteOn Friday I listened to three motivational speakers and their success within their chosen field. The underlying theme was leadership and how we as teachers are leaders within the classroom. Every day I am thankful for being the person I am because I have become a leader and am proud of my role in life. I was given gifts to share and a mission to help others. This journey is ever evolving and ICT is just one area. Ours is not to be scared of the changes but to embrace them so we can share with others. What a wonderful reason to get up in the morning.
ReplyDeleteHi suzie,
ReplyDeleteAs we move further into the future we will all use this technology and long gone will be the paper and pens. I wonder will the way pedagogy will be taught change much.... Maybe a paperless and penless world??
